Key insights
- The Data Hub is designed to make sustainability data in travel more consistent, comparable and accessible – at scale.
- Functionality:
- The Data Hub can ingest sustainability data from both individual operators and large-scale data providers,
- Process that data into clear, compliant, and comparable formats,
- And distribute that information to support a variety of end uses — from display-ready applications on booking platforms to internal reporting systems, analytics dashboards, baseline creation, and destination benchmarking.
- The launch version is focused on processing accommodation data; including carbon emissions per room night, renewable energy use, and certifications held.
- Benefits to three user groups:
- Accommodation Providers: sharing your impact data ensures visibility to corporate buyers, OTAs, and ESG reporting systems. Smaller operators (B&Bs, rentals) will get mobile app access to contribute easily.
- For Platforms & Distributors: accessing information means credibility, comparability, and differentiation. The Data Hub moves the industry toward a defacto global standard for sustainability data.
- For Policymakers: access to trusted datasets for benchmarking, climate action plans, and compliance oversight.
- The long-term aim is to expand beyond accommodation to rail, destinations, and end-to-end itineraries.
