Led by The Duke of Sussex, and founded in partnership with Booking.com, Skyscanner, Trip.com Group, Tripadvisor, and Visa, Travalyst is a non-profit organisation working to identify – and help bring about – the systemic changes needed in order for sustainable travel to be taken out of the niche, and into the mainstream.
We believe tourism can, and must, play a key role in achieving a sustainable future for our world; so we’re convening the key players, and catalysing the necessary action, to change the impact of travel, for good.
We are committed to being a driving force that redefines what it means to travel, helping everyone explore our world in a way that protects both people and places, and secures a positive future for destinations and local communities for generations to come.

The number of people around the world taking international trips has more than doubled since 2000, and is set to increase by the same number again by 2030*. As more and more people travel, so too increases the impact on the environment and local communities – and the opportunities to do good with each trip we take.

Any associated environmental impact of travel should be positive and long lasting. This includes everything from eliminating the use of single-use plastics to finding new, more impactful ways to reduce and offset carbon emissions associated with our trips.
With the numbers of travellers rapidly rising, we want to expand the economic benefits and help to relieve pressure on overcrowded travel destinations.
Local communities should enjoy the direct economic benefits of hosting visitors. By empowering them to capitalise on the opportunities associated with travel, we can help support and secure destinations for the years ahead.
